You've got to find this Boris !

A morning of September 2008, I was working in my office. One of my leader came to me and said to me while he was giving me a paper : « You really got to find that Boris ! »
Boris, I knew who he was ! I even knew where he was living ! Boris was MaryAnn’s worker. MaryAnn is the lady who was in charge of my site before me. When Boris was 11 years old he first attended a youth evening with Metro. And since that day he did not leave the church. Boris gave his life to God there and would help all the time MaryAnn to invite the kids to Sunday School. But since MaryAnn had left Metro in the summer 2006 Boris had disappeared. It was impossible for me to find him !

I was then looking at the paper that my leader had handed to me. It was an email from Boris to Pastor Bill, our senior pastor and founder of Metro Ministries. Boris had written : « Over a couple of months I haven’t been going to church and I haven’t been keeping in touch with them [the Metro staffs] and I changed my number sooo many times I feel like if I missed out on a lot and I wanted to know where the address to the Brooklyn church is so that I can go back I fell like if I’m missing a part of God from my life. Please write back and thank you Pastor Bill.. » I had to find Boris now ! I went back to his apartment a couple of times and knocked on his door but nobody ever opened the door. How would I found Boris ?

A couple of weeks later, my team and myself were organizing a Sidewalk Sunday School in Boris’ neighborhood. Boris came. I was so happy to see him that I told him « Hey Boris ! ». He looked at me strangely like if he would say « how do you know my name ? ». We talk a little bit and exchanged our phone numbers. Boris left and everything was over.
The next week I was picking up some teenagers for Revolution, our teenager service on Wednesday nights. Boris came that night. And since that day he’s coming to church twice a week. He did not miss church for more than 5 times since. Today Boris is 15 years old and does not hesitate to jump in the train (1 ½ hour one way) to take part of some extra activities organized by the church. Boris has a giant passion for God and desired to become an example to many.
